july 7,2012 photo shoot…

i  have been thinking about going to Lanoha nursery to get pictures of sophia & mikayla with all of the flowers all around, so we finally went this past week.  i got some great photos & played with photo filters on some of them.

a “photo-shoot” with my girls is definately still my favorite way to spend an afternoon…

sophia was so happy because we let her walk the whole time we were there & she discovered that she can push her stroller, which she has decided is alot more fun than riding in it.

she thought it was even cooler to push the stroller with mikayla…

sophia, you started walking on your own (more than two steps at a time)  the last week in june, 2012 & already in the first week of july, 2012 you are walking like a pro…

i love this “polaroid” frame…

note to self: order polaroid film

sophia & mommy… mikayla was right there but for this pic i set the camera on a rock & set the timer, i like to use the timer with sophia because the beeping still makes her laugh & smile (usually)…

walking thru the flowers with my baby girl…

mikayla & sophia… these two have ALWAYS been amazingly close & sophia has ALWAYS felt safe & content with her big sister. but since mikayla has been home this summer & the three of us have been spending SO MUCH time together, i have seen their relationship become even greater & closer. sophia reaches out for mikayla, she always wants to be with her sister & if sophia is upset she will let mikayla hold her, which is huge because if she is upset sophia only wants her mommy…

look at these girls. i love that they are always laughing & having fun together…

it was funny because i set soph on the rocks at the edge of this little pond & at first she was extremely timid & seemed scared to even touch the water. then, about 5 minutes later she had slid down the rocks & had her little bottom sitting directly in the water, splashing around with her feet & hands & throwing rocks into the deeper water…

changing some of these photos to black & white really has me wishing that i still had my dark-room. when i was taking alot of photography classes at College of Marin in California i got an enlarger & the whole set-up for an at home dark-room. i used to put jarred to bed & then put up my black-out curtains over the bathroom door & window, get out the enlarger, dark-room light, all the chemicals, etc… & i would play in my dark-room for hours & when i was finished i took everything down & packed it away until the next night. it worked for me & i wish i still had it.

i love this picture of mikayla…

sophia was just so happy that she got to walk on her own the whole time we were at the nursery. it is amazing to me that the desire for independence starts this early… i forgot how frustrated little ones can get when they want to do something for themselves but either they can’t quite do it or mom won’t let them (because it’s dangerous) & they get so upset. well, probobly every child is not like that but both of my babies have been. sophia is so much like jarred in this way… extremely out-going & loud & inquisitive & strong & independent, i love that she has these qualities already, just like her brother…

she probobly has the most photographed feet of any baby because i take at least a few pics of her cute little baby feet at every “photo-shoot”…

of course before we left i had to put sophia in a flower pot & mikayla got so embarresed, she acted like she didn’t know us…

sophia is our little flower…  she is growing &  soaking up all of the information around her. she is learning every-day & her personality is forming & coming out. she is exploring the world around her, already testing boundaries & trying very hard to be independent.

our little flower is blooming right before our eyes.
