last saturday, September 15, 2012, sophia & i went to the first art fair at Aksaraben Village with grammy mary & what a great place to have an art fair, i hope it becomes an annual thing. the whole “vibe” there is so great & it is clean & there is green space & the stage is in a perfect spot & there is a park for kids to run & play in right in the middle of everything & there are so many great resteraunts that i really want to try.
i was actually star struck with one of the artists there… walking & looking through all of the artists booths i looked over & saw the name Teressa Mcfayden on one of the booths & i knew i knew the name, i didn’t realize how i knew it until i got into her booth & saw her amazing work. she is an artist that i have followed & admired for like 5 years, i have 2 of her books & quite a few magazines that she has been published in & i never knew that she is actually from omaha!! i am still so very excited that i actually got to meet her!! she is a painter & mixed media artist. definately a highlight of the day for me!!
sophia’s highlight of the day… grammy pushing her in the swing…
love this face…
thanks for meeting us at the art fair mom. soph & i love, love, love spending the day with you.
later on in the day sophia & i went to a park so i could try to get some pics of her, (because i clearly have not been taking enough photos of her, i have to step it up a bit. ha.ha.) no really, i am putting together a new web-site/blog for my photography business (which i am trying to attack & go forward with & not let self-doubt creep in) so i am now setting up photo shoots to show people what i do. these photos didn’t turn out as good as i had hoped so we will try again another day, by the time we got to the park it had already been a full day & she was just so tired & therefore not the most cooperative. i still managed to get a few that i love for personal use though…
love the tilt of her head & the angle of the camera & the bright blue sky behind her in this one…
i put a great filter on top of this photo to give it the beautiful, old-fashioned look that it has. who says that you have to have photoshop to be a “real” professional photographer, shane down-loaded GIMP for me, a free version of photo-shop & it actually has quite a few of the same functions & actions as the real thing…
not to say that i don’t want photo-shop so badly that i can taste it. patience grasshopper.
we had to do a wardrobe change because she of course had cracker smushed into her pretty sweater after snack time…
she loooovvveeeedddd watching the people playing tennis. sometimes they would miss the ball & it would come rolling over right by where we were & sophia would run over & point & grunt & yell, telling them where there ball was. very helpful…
Love all these pics. The strawberry pictures are priceless and the up-close of her in the swing at aksarben. so cute I love looking at photos and reading your comments.
Love love love
