July 7 & 8, 2014…

I was so happy when we drove up & saw that we were in Margre’s village. my grandma’s name…

a few favorites from our trip…

day 1…

we got there about 4 to check into our cabin, which was beautiful!! we dropped all our stuff & walked up to the observation tower, got sidetracked by a pay phone (we are easily entertained. ha.) climbed to the top of the tower, walked the trails & then went back to the cabin to get the fire going for a little cook out & just as our dogs were getting finished on the grill it started pouring. we played football in the rain, laughed a lot & I got shane, Mikayla & Sophia to climb to the top of the hill by our cabin so I could get some sunset silhouettes. such a great day…

day 2…

this sign can pretty much sum up the rest of our trip. she is now an official horse lover. we ask daddy every day if we can have one in the back yard!! ha.

we walked around the trails, went paddle boating, fed the geese, took a nap & wound up back at the ponies…

Mikayla & I decided to go on a trail ride. I rode sundowner & she rode rusty…

meme & papa came out for a little cook out which was fun & then the sun was setting & the girls & I took a walk.

this field was so gorgeous with that beautiful golden light streaming in. I know this is an absurd amount of photos of my girls but this light, I mean come on!!

the golden hour…

we had left the field & I turned back around to see a deer had walked out into the clearing. Mikayla was so funny, I didn’t even have to ask her, she just ran back out into the field to try & get a few shots with that deer in the background…

we all got eaten up by bugs walking thru this field, we were scared of snakes & poison ivy but no one got bit by a snake or a poisonous plant & we all made it out alive. I love that my girls are always up for my crazy, sometimes ridiculous requests. I am thankful for the time my love of photography gives me with them. even if they are making fun of me the whole time!! ha. thank you Mikayla for always playing along!!

we ended the evening with a little s’mores which had gotten rained out the night before & that was that, we left the next morning.
