Sophia started classes at Metro Stars Gymnastics. her first class was June 2nd. & she loves it. the instructor said it usually takes 4 to 5 weeks for the younger kids to settle down & understand what is going on & to get the routine down, she is getting there.
she runs out of the class less than she did the first two weeks. the 2nd week I have no pictures of because she kept running out of the class, like constantly & the doors are glass & she slams them as she opens & closes them. I kept telling her if she came out again we would have to leave, she kept coming out so we had to leave. man, she was so upset but the next week she only ran in & out a few times.
she was “calling” meme & papa to tell them she was on her way to gymnastics class. so cute…
3rd. week. she loved this class. she loved swinging on the rings & knocking down those foam cubes. she listened better & loved swinging & pulling herself up on the bar too. at the end of the class they got to go into the big gym, where the big girls are practicing & they are GOOD!! Sophia was a little nervous going in there, which is probably good because those girls are swinging giants on the bars & doing double back flips off the vault right next to where the big trampoline is, they have to be so careful. she listened & she had so much fun jumping on the big trampoline…
4th. week…
5th. week… I believe the hardest part for her is the beginning stretch time, its just not that exciting for her & then when they have to sit on their stars & listen to directions for their next activity, or walking to the next activity, pretty much any time they are not actually doing the activity she is trying to sneak off to jump on the trampoline, swing on the bar, jump in the pit. she is getting better though. I love to see her getting better at listening & waiting. but seriously, listening & waiting, not easy. not even at my age.
I don’t have pics from the 6th. week. wwaaaahhhhh!! I was so bummed, my camera was acting up again & so I couldn’t get it to work & this is the week she was on the balance beam. she did so great!! she was scared the first time she got up there on that big beam but her next turn, she was all about it.
Sophia, I love watching you do gymnastics.
I love all these pics. a running story from week to week brings back memories of you learning gymnastics she looks good
