wandering to the Lincoln zoo…

Shane is always working when we take our wandering drives so it was awesome that he could go with us today. we drove the long way to Lincoln & ended up at the Lincoln zoo which I remember going to as a kid. I love that zoo & I loved today. thanks shane for joining with us & going with the flow of having no real destination. so awesome.

she was pretty excited when we pulled into the zoo parking lot & we told her we were going to see the animals. it cracks me up, her favorite part was getting to be the one holding the map.

Sophia is in love with butterflies right now so the little butterfly exhibit was amazing to her. they give you a little “butterfly spray” on your finger & say the butterflies will come to you. I kept telling her to lower her voice when she was “calling” the butterflies. none landed on her but that was fine with her. so cool to see how much she loves to watch them fly.

of course the goats were a favorite… anything she can touch or pet, she is a big fan of.

and then she saw the horses…

there was a chameleon in there. shane & Sophia stood there & tried to find that chameleon for AWHILE. as we left the zoo we saw that the chameleon was the 2:00 animal show. yah, that was pretty funny.

what a great zoo!! perfect size for a little one, it doesn’t cost $100.00 to get in & it is beautiful. I loved watching her really looking for & noticing & saying the animals names & of course every time we would move on she would wave bye-bye to the animal. love you Sophia.
